The SEMIs International workshop training on seed production was held from 10th – 15th August, 2015. The course which was had in attendance 26 participants was coordinated by Prof. Kiarie Njoroge and Prof. Florence Olubayo both from CAVS. Participants were mostly field technicians in their seed companies and represented 13 countries to the workshop namely; Niger, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Mali, Rwanda, Uganda, Mozambique, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, South Sudan and DR Congo.
Target Group
This course has been designed for senior level management personnel from both existing and upcoming seed companies
Curriculum
The seed production course is intended to instill the following skills:
Good understanding of seed production management and quality assurance regulations to achieve seed production goals.
Analytical and interactive ability to enable sound planning and implementation of seed production enterprise
Ability to diagnose seed production problems and determination and application of practical solutions
Managerial capacity in design and implementation of seed production strategies
